Performances

From humble beginnings over 60 years ago, Hockey Albury Wodonga has grown to include 9 clubs playing weekly in U10’s through to Masters. HAW has built a successful environment that sees our elite athletes competing at state, national & international levels. In 2017 HAW had more than fifty representatives at state, national & international levels.  HAW has built a reputation for sportsmanship & has over 1500 players taking the grounds every weekend throughout the winter season. HAW, in addition to its domestic competition has its own development program that guarantees the next generation of players receive professional tuition in the skills of the game starting with Hook in2 Hockey for the little ones, an U10’s development competition & U12’s competition.  This provides a pathway for these children. In 2017 HAW had in excess of 150 participants in our local development programs. We also deliver our sport into schools to increase participation at a local level & the overall activity levels of children within our community. To further ensure the HAW ties to the local community are upheld, the association donates in excess of $10,000 to local charities annually. Last year our Hockey 8’s Charity Tournament chose FoodShare as the recipient of the funds for the year. Further to this the member clubs raise & donate funds for various charities as well as donating extensively to its local representative players.

HAW is the strongest country association in Victoria. It has won 5 of the 6 age groups in Junior Country Championships in 2017 and has has won many senior and veterans titles in mens and womens hockey.

Albury-Wodonga competes in the ACT Hockey Association’s Capital League competition with the Men’s team, Albury-Wodonga Spitfires, and the Women's team, Albury-Wodonga Strikers

The Future
HAW has plans to continue to upgrade it’s facilities at the Albury & Wodonga Hockey Centres.
HAW is committed to the promotion and development of the sport in primary and secondary schools throughout the region.
